Student Support

Can't think about summer because of exam fear or that dreaded dissertation?

Don't panic, we can get you through it! offers a student mentor service that helps young people transition through the various stages of their academic life and onto their career pathway by improving knowledge and confidence.  The ultimate end goal is for the individual to realise their potential and achieve it.   Our student mentors specialise in at least one specialist area and will work with students either face-to-face or via telephone, Skype or email – whatever works for you!

It is important to stress that our mentors are not formally qualified counsellors or life coaches but they are trained to be excellent listeners and will form a relationship with you based equally on friendship and professionalism.  As you get to know your mentor you will realise that they will want to help you achieve your potential as much, if not more, than you do yourself!  Mentoring is a very personal thing and how or why it works differs completely with each individual – an initial phone call should settle your mind as to whether or not it will work for you and an action plan can be drawn up to meet your individual needs prior.

Typical areas where we can offer assistance include:

  • Academic tutoring                                       Dissertation support
  • Career advice                                              Interview skills
  • CV review                                                   Transition to University
  • Entrepreneurial advice                                  Graduate support
  • Job application support
  • Adult learners

Mentoring comes with a simple, set price tag.  One hour face-to-face costs £30 or £25 is three or more sessions are blocked booked.  One hour of non face-to-face time (Skype, document reviews or email assistance) costs £20 or £15 if five or more hours are block booked.
